Happy New Year!

Hello and Happy 2020…a little bit late! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and was able to spend it surrounded by those you love most. I really enjoyed some down time with my family, and I always love being able to spend that time together. This year felt extra magical, especially for my daughter, and I loved getting to experience the season through her eyes. I really tried to hold on and take in every moment.

Having some time to relax and wind down is always so refreshing and gets me motivated to hit the ground running in the new year. I love to take advantage of the slower months to work on some of the things that I tend to put off the majority of the year and seem to never have time for. I’m excited to say that the biggest project I’m tackling right now is a new website. It’s coming along, and I hope to be up and running soon. It’s been so fun to go back through my work and pick out some of my favorite images to showcase, both old and new. It has also been very humbling to take stock of all the amazing opportunities I have had over the years to photograph so many of you. I really am so grateful. Everyday shooting is also a really big part of my life, so I’m excited to share some of my personal work on my new website as well. If you want to see more of it, just follow me over on Instagram.

I also like to think about some of the things I want to do more of and things that I really want to work on in the upcoming year. I’d really love to photograph more in-home newborns this year. I miss having little ones around here. I love getting creative with different lighting scenarios in client’s homes and documenting all that natural emotion centered around a new baby. So if you know someone expecting…I’d love for you to send them my way! I’m also going to try harder to market myself. This is an on-going ‘work on’ item for me. It’s SO hard!! For all of you out there who continue to so graciously pass my name on and credit me when sharing my images, please don’t stop. It means the world to me. I’m just recognizing that I need to be more comfortable putting myself out there with all the amazing talent that exists in our area and beyond. I’m also excited to be attending a workshop in April. I never stop working on my craft, and I can’t wait to get away for 3 days and gather with other photographers to talk, learn, shoot, and really focus on my creative journey.

That’s about all that is going on over here. I really am looking forward to another year of doing what I love so much. I hope to see many of you again and meet some new faces as well. And just because it feels strange to make a blog post without any images, here are a few of the images that were meant for my Christmas cards that turned into New Years cards that never materialized into anything! Ha!
